John and Sharon Witcombe received their training as medical missionaries in 1977 at Uchee Pines Institute. At 23 years of age, John served as the administrator for this institution from 1978-1983. They then served as Bible workers in North Carolina and Southern California for the next two years. Receiving a call to serve in pastoral ministry in the country of Ireland, they spent the next two years pastoring in Shannon. After leaving Ireland and spending a year or so in independent ministry, John trained as an arborist and then operated his own tree service business. In the early 90’s John and Sharon decided to get their degrees in Community Health Education and they both graduated from Eastern Washington University. Before John graduated he was invited into the ministry by the Upper Columbia Conference and has served as a pastor since 1994 serving currently in southern Oregon. They have one daughter with a grandchild on the way.
